Additional Services

Balloon release

Balloon ReleaseWe are able to arrange for a balloon release at the end of the funeral service. Each balloon will have a blank card tied on with a ribbon. A personal message may be written onto the blank cards. The balloons, ribbons and cards are biodegradable.

Bereavement support

Grieving for the person who has died takes time. The effects of grief can include feelings of helplessness, shock, numbness and sadness. A sense of disbelief and confusion can often be felt. There is no set time-scale for the period of mourning. We are all different as individuals.

Should you feel that you would like to talk to someone we are able to offer, at Park Green House, one or two sessions of confidential bereavement support sessions where a trained counsellor will listen and try to help. After the initial mourning period (approximately five weeks after the funeral), should you feel you would like to talk to someone, we can arrange a mutually convenient time for you to meet our counsellor.

Bereavement SupportWe will provide you with a copy of a booklet entitled “What now?”. This booklet was written by Dr Bill Webster who is acknowledged widely as an expert in bereavement counselling. We hope that you will find reading the booklet helpful.

We are also able to connect you with the Macclesfield Bereavement Support Group. This is a free service run by local highly experienced volunteers who are able to provide confidential bereavement support.

Catering

We are able to provide post funeral receptions at Park Green House and will be pleased to discuss our hot or cold buffet menu options with you. We are also able to arrange catering with other recommended local venues should you prefer.

Memorial DiamondThe LifeGem is a certified, high-quality diamond created from the carbon within the ashes of your loved one. The carbon is extracted from approximately eight ounces of the ashes which is all that is required. This still leaves the majority of the ashes with the family.

LifeGem diamonds are available in White, Green, Blue, Red and Yellow hues. A choice of three cuts are available namely Round, Radiant and Princess.

Sizes range from 0.2 carat up to a whole carat and up to 1.5 carats in some colours.

Life GemAt present the whole process takes from around six months to produce the finished perfect diamond.

Each LifeGem diamond is unique and no two will ever be exactly the same.

We will be pleased to provide you with further information about LifeGem Memorial Diamonds.

Maps

Maps can be provided to show mourners how to get to the funeral or the reception venue afterwards.

Thank you cards

We are also able to provide you with personalised thank you cards to send to those who attended the funeral service. The art work can be arranged to co-ordinate with the funeral service booklets.

The Bereavement Register

The Bereavement RegisterThe Bereavement Register’s aim is to reduce the flow of circulars, random advertising material and junk mail, which are often still sent to the address of a person after they have died. This is done by removing the deceased person’s name and address from mailing lists.

Receiving post addressed to someone who has died may be upsetting and could become an annoyance to anyone who moves into their property subsequently.

We can provide you with further information about The Bereavement Register.
